Hello all,

 

The Goochland Middle School PTSA is partnering with the 8th Grade team to create Flexible Seating Environments in classrooms. Our goal is to establish an environment within our classrooms that will encourage collaboration and innovation. By removing stationary desks from the classroom, students will have more freedom within the classroom. Our students will be able to explore deeper learning by working collaboratively with peers while enhancing their creativity and taking ownership of their work. In doing so they will learn how to become problem-solvers and leaders.

 

We have already garnered support from the Rappahannock Electric Company and Lickinghole Creek Brewery for supplies in this effort, however we still need your help! We are in need of rugs, various seating styles, and tables (yoga balls, high stools, bar style stools, crates, high-top style tables, rectangle tables, and round tables) in order to transform our classrooms and make this project a reality. We have set-up a page on DonorsChoose.org. Donors choose is a non-profit organization that allows for you to make a tax-deductible contribution to specific items that will enhance classrooms. Every dollar counts and this would be a great addition to GMS for our students. We're striving to reach our goal by August 1, 2016.
